On October 10, Heart to Heart Hospice Foundation joined community members at the 2026 Walk to End Alzheimer’s® Texoma in Sherman, Texas, to support individuals living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, as well as the families and caregivers who walk alongside them every day.
The event brought people together to raise awareness and support ongoing efforts to improve care, advance research and move closer to a cure. Our team was honored to host a booth and visit with participants whose lives have been touched by dementia.
One of the most meaningful traditions of the Walk is the Promise Garden, where participants carry flowers representing their connection to the cause. Blue flowers symbolize those living with dementia, purple honors those lost to the disease, yellow recognizes caregivers and orange represents supporters of the Alzheimer’s movement. Together, the flowers create a powerful display of remembrance, strength and hope.
The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest fundraiser dedicated to Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Funds raised help provide educational programs, support services and research aimed at improving treatments and ultimately finding a cure.
“The Texoma Walk was a wonderful reminder that no one has to face Alzheimer’s or dementia alone,” said Sarah Jones. “Heart to Heart Hospice Foundation was proud to support the event and connect with the community. We’re grateful to every participant, volunteer, donor and supporter who helped make the day meaningful. By walking, remembering and supporting one another, we keep hope alive for families today and for future generations.”
At Heart to Heart Hospice Foundation, we are proud to stand with patients, caregivers and families affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia and support efforts that bring greater awareness, compassion and hope to those facing the journey.
